The decor is interesting and seems like it might have been a former Chinese restaurant, which adds a unique charm. I've also tried the carne asada and adobada, and everything has been fantastic. Don't miss out on the refreshing agua fresca either. When you visit, you'll place your order at the counter, and they'll bring the food to your table. It's more of a fast-casual setup where you bus your own tables, not a full-service restaurant with waitstaff. They have been super helpful and nice every time we go ”
“ Found this place while staying in town 3 days. It's in a strip mall, in a former Chinese restaurant, so the ambiance in all Chinese: kind of comical; we joked that we went out for Chexican. It's a place where you order at the counter then seat yourself. We've lived in the Southwest for 30 yrs, so we are used to a different kind of Mexican food. I had beef nachos, and they were incredibly MEATY...it was so hearty, I couldn't finish. Hubby too - and he's a BIG guy. I liked that their bottled waters were only $1. If you are looking for a HUGE portion and something really really meaty for a good price, this is your place. ”

We discovered this hole in the wall taco place in Pacific Grove, CA and I wish we could eat there everyday! The Quesabirria Cheesy Tacos are grilled to perfection on both sides with shredded beef birria, cheese, cilantro, onions, & served with consome. So good we had to order everything twice! “ We came for the birria ramen and it was so good. We have been wanting to try birria ramen for a long time and it did not disappoint. We also got a birria burrito. For the birria ramen it was a little too salty after adding the full flavor packet so we recommend not putting in the whole thing. We also got aguas frescas to go with our food. This place was in an old Chinese restaurant. The service was fast and nice, you just walk up to a counter and order. Ambiance was very casual. We went here after a long run in Big Sur and the food was perfect. ”
